    Fabulous

I liked the quiet, the staff and the opportunity to have something other than the continental breakfast, wi-fi was good too.

I have only one complaint which I don't think the hotel can do much about and that is when driving out it is very difficult turn towards Victoria, Duke Point etc.

    Fabulous

Good room, Nice continental breakfast included. The pool and hot tub area is cedar lined which gives off that lovely aroma very welcoming when walking into pool area, one of the nicer hotel pools. The cedar also helps soften the usual noise in pools. Restaurant is nice.

I would have liked to see the local paper in the lobby, or at breakfast. Too bad the pool windows were being renovated, but it did not interfere with the pool enjoyment at all, well done.

After finding the Inn, due to taking the wrong turning, we werre pleased with the setting and facilities. The food was very enjoyable as well. We consider Days Inn as good value for money.

The young man behind the bar was very helpful

The hotel was scruffy and the young receptionist wasn't really very helpful

    Exceptional

I really liked the cleanliness of the rooms and the comfort of the beds. We had been to the Okanagan previously and while the motels were clean, the beds were hard as cement. I liked the convenience of the abc restaurant and the food if not spectacular was certainly tasty.

Access in and out is a bit tricky.

    Good

It wasn't so much a "not like" about Days Inn, as a complaint about the map that Booked.net provided indicating that the Days Inn was north of Nanaimo. We chose this hotel based on the location shown on your map. If the hotel was actually where you showed it to be... It would have been in a good location for us to attend the function we had come to Nanaimo for. We only learned on the day of check-in - too late to cancel free of charge - that the hotel was much further - south of Nanaimo. The distance to the venue we were attending was increased and our taxi fare was well over double what we ended up paying (I.E. return fare was $50 as opposed to $20)

    Superb

Close to Nanaimo airport; clean; comfortable; quiet; easy to locate; free continental breakfast. A pleasant surprise!

$2/hr for use of guest Internet-access computer. Connection was slow, so not worth the charge. Most hotels offer free computer access in lobby these days. The free WiFi was nice, but I couldn't connect with my personal laptop anyway. The free continental breakfast is a nice touch but could be more robust. Again, many hotels serve hard-boiled eggs, cheese and more healthy choices in cereals. Some are doing self-serve hot items now too --- waffles; pancakes and more. A greater variety might give you an edge over local B&Bs that are becoming a popular choice for travellers.

Nice rooms, restaurant in the hotel. Swimmingpool available.

    Too far from the city.

    Exceptional

The staff was incredible. Very helpful and friendly. Extremely professional. We even received a call from the front desk to ensure that we had gotten our automatic wake up call. We really liked the option of using a $3 credit per person in the restaurant for a very delicious breakfast instead of the free continental breakfast. Lastly, it was wonderful to have access to laundry machines (and free soap from the front desk).

It was a little tricky to find the hotel from the highway. We went past it and had to back track. Perhaps some earlier or different signage might help with that. While, we also appreciated the free continental breakfast, we despaired at the amount of waste created.

    Very good

The restaurant was handy, pool wasn't packed full of people so we actually got to swim, staff were helpful and friendly, continental breakfast, comfortable beds.

The room cleaning staff were a little too anxious. We kept getting asked if we were checking out and we still had an hour left, the fire alarm had been set off, and we hadn't had breakfast yet. We were asked on three different occassions by who seemed like the head cleaning personnel. Perhaps they should use a better system for communicating to the staff upon client checkout.

    Exceptional

Staff were very helpful. Had an issue of noise from a girls lacrosse team at 11pm I called the front desk and it was handled immediately. ABC Restaurant onsite. Rooms was clean and comfortable. Older hotel but has been updated. Have stayed before and will stay again.

A bit far from the harbour. 2.5km but a nice walk.

  • 7.4
    Very good

The hotel is reasonably priced, has a good pool and appropriate for an over night stay while traveling from one location to another.

The Days Inn is utilitarian and does what it is supposed to do with the benefit of having a pool for some quick, inexpensive exercise while trying to travel from one location to another.

Lack of cleanliness, dirty towels, AC did not work, advertised as harbour view however there was little to view
